When Hurricane Helene paid an unwelcome visit to our area on September 27, 2024 we were fortunate to not have extensive damage to the church. However, the downstairs nursery, children’s and youth areas were destroyed by ground water. Within a couple days the mold had taken over since there was no power.
With only minimal help from our insurance company, our trustees and many other servants began the task of cleaning out the downstairs and demolition of all the damaged areas.
What followed was weeks of working to clean everything out, abate the mold, and begin the restoration. The planning team cast a new vision for the downstairs spaces and with the trustee’s approval work began. Countless hours were expended by many people to get all of the spaces renovated into a wonderful new and much more functional space.
On June 1, 2025 we consecrated and dedicated the newly renovated space and it was put to use the very next day with our Road Trip Vacation Bible School.
We are so very thankful for all who helped in any way and we are especially thankful to those who contributed funds to make this possible.
Our children and youth now have a modern space to experience the goodness of God.
Respectfully submitted,
Pastor Brian
