Well good morning! This is Pastor Brian. I just wanted to catch up on all the exciting events that are kicking off this week as we begin our fall season at Dacusville United Methodist Church.

This coming Saturday the 26th, we are having a jamming with OOW music session in our Fellowship Hall. That will be accompanied with a good ol’ fashioned pinto beans, corn bread, and some dessert and other items meal. You’ll want to come out and see OOW firsthand as they provide us with a wonderful music concert during that time.
Sunday the 27th following Worship, we’ll be journeying over to Hester Store to join them in celebrating their one year anniversary. We will be serving barbecue plates, and all the funds that are raised at both of these events will be going toward our Youth’s missions and retreats during the coming months through the winter.
The youth would love to see you come out and support them in both of these events this coming weekend!
Also beginning this weekend, one of our ladies will be going down to Leath Correctional to participate in the Kairos Women’s Walk #37 down there, and she and the rest of the team would certainly covet your prayers in this time as they make that program available to the ladies down at Leath.
Then, the following Thursday, Tom Mowbry and myself will be going to the Men’s Kairos Weekend #50 at Perry Correctional, and we too would certainly appreciate all of your prayers for us and all of the men participating in that during that time.
On October 6, we have our Journey through Grief Together group that meets under the leadership of Mrs. Betty at 10:30 am here in our conference room on the backside of the church.

On the 9th and 10th, a community favorite is coming back! Our Rummage Sale with hot dog plates for lunch and our bake sale. The Rummage Sale will run 8-4, and the hot dogs will be from about 11 until we run out each day; the bake goods will be available all during the Rummage Sale. All those proceeds go to support our missions and outreach here at Dacusville United Methodist Church.
Also on October 11th, we will have Holy Communion during our Worship service.

A little further out, on October 24th is our Fall Festival that begins at 5 in the afternoon. There will be all kinds of food and fun for the kids. We’ll have cake walks and other things, and of course there will be Halloween treats being distributed. We don’t do trick or treat, we just do treats here! So bring your kids on out and we’ll have a judging for the best Halloween costume in the children, and we’ll have a photo booth where you can take pictures of your favorite little ones or get family photos for the fall season.
Then on October 25, we will have our Inter-generational Interactive sermon where all ages of people participate interactively during our message time.
All during the month of October, we have a weekly Bible study, devotion, and prayer time that meets Wednesdays at 11 am in our conference room. That is led by Mrs. Debbie and they will be beginning the the study of the book of Acts beginning next Wednesday.
Another thing that we’re very excited about is our inter-generational children, youth, and adult sessions that begin with lunch following Worship at 12:30 pm on Sundays. Following our lunch together, we will divide up into and go into two different sessions. One session will be learning how to study the Bible, and the other one will be Bible story basics. Everyone is welcome to come and join in this time of food, fellowship, and learning.
Everything that is going on here at Dacusville is always available for you to check out on our Facebook page, and also on our website. Be sure to check us out and come and join us for any one of these programs, or join us Sunday for Worship at 11:45 am. We would love to welcome you!
Goodbye for now,
Pastor Brian
