Good morning, Pastor Brian here!
After an outstanding year in 2025 where we saw many great and wonderful changes at Dacusville, one of which is that our attendance has increased by about 20%. We have many more families with children and youth!
We’re excited that we have a Chili & Baking Competition on the horizon this Saturday from 3:30 until about 6 or 6:30. You don’t want to miss that. It’s $5 to get in the door. It’s going to also be a fundraiser for our youth, and we have quite a large number of people preparing chilis and desserts.
We’re also so excited that we have a confirmation class kicking off this Sunday following Worship. Some of our youth will do the confirmation journey, and we will culminate that with a retreat to the Hinton Center April 10-12.
We will have Confirmation Sunday on April with the confirmants officially professing their faith and joining the church. We also plan to have baptisms on that Sunday.
If anyone would like come and join in that and be baptized or have children baptized, please reach out to me.
The youth will be going on a Revolution Student Ministry weekend to Columbia on January 20, coming back on February 1.
We have a new group that we’re very excited about called Seasoned Saints. It’s for men and women 60 and over. It’s going to be a day trip group. A group that goes on lunches together, or maybe we’ll eventually go on overnight or longer trips. If you’d like to learn more about that, just reach out to out.
Soon we’ll be kicking Lent off February 17 with a Shrove or Fat Tuesday Pancake Supper with a lot of fun and games that go along with that.
On Ash Wednesday, February 18, we will hold 2 services for the imposition of Ashes. Then our Lenten studies will begin on February 25. We are planning on a daytime group at 11:00 am and also an evening group at 6:00 pm, and we may be forming a Lenten Light group for an evening session.
