Hey, good morning, everyone. This is Pastor Brian as Dacusville United Methodist Church. I’m sorry for the lack of pastor updates lately. We’ve just been crazy busy at Dacusville getting things in order for a busy summer.
We recently completed our renovation of the downstairs following the destruction from Hurricane Helene, and we rededicated that on June 1. We used it the following week for our Vacation Bible School which was a huge success. We had many kids here and everyone had a wonderful time as we explored God’s Word through Road Trip and went on an incredible journey with God.
This week we’re in the first week of our Summer Camp for kids age 4-12 and the kids, all of the helpers, and myself are having a great time. We still have spaces open next week if anyone would like to come and join us, just check that out on our website.
Also, as we go on in the coming weeks, on June 29, we’re having a very special service, we’re calling it a Singing Sunday. It’s a fifth Sunday and we’re featuring a lot of old favorite hymns and other music in our worship. Following the worship will be a picnic on the grounds. We will have some picnic spaces available, and we will also have tables set up inside the Fellowship Hall just in case it’s too hot for some of us to enjoy being outside.
Also on that evening of June 29, we have our Youth Co-op. We are hosting a pool party here at a residence in Dacusville, and we would love to have any of your rising sixth through twelfth graders come on out to join us for this party. We’re in a co-op with Trinity United Methodist Church in Fountain Inn and Easley First United Methodist Church in Easley.
I want to give you a head’s up on this exciting news: we will wrap up the summer with a Back to School Bash on July 27 from 3:30 to 6:30pm here at the church with a lot of water game fun, and other games and activities and some prizes. Get that marked on the calendar and don’t miss out!
Lastly, throughout these summer months – beginning June 15 and through August 3 – we’re doing a summer series called Oasis where we come together to seek out what God’s Word is for us and giving us an Oasis where we can escape from many of the problems and struggles of the world through our relationship with Jesus Christ.
I encourage you to come and check us out. Look at the website and join us for some of our wonderful events and activities and certainly you’re always welcome to join us for worship Sunday mornings at 11:00am.
God bless you all,
Pastor Brian
