Hey! This is Pastor Brian. I just wanted to take a few minutes to bring you up to speed with many of the exciting things we have coming up here at Dacusville United Methodist Church leading up to Easter.
This coming Sunday, March 22, we will be having an intergenerational worship experience where we will be acting out the resurrection of Lazarus from the Gospel. You don’t want to miss that. You want to come and see how that goes down at 11 am this Sunday.
The following Sunday, March 29 is Palm Sunday, and for Fifth Sundays this year we are taking our worship experiences outside the building. Beginning on March 29 we are going to meet on the basketball church here behind the church for our worship time. We will celebrate Palm Sunday with all of the normal stuff with that. Following the Worship Service we will go inside the Fellowship Hall and have a luncheon hosted by the church. There’s no charge for the meal; everyone is welcome to come and enjoy the meal with us.

Then as we start into Holy Week, on April 2 we have our Maundy Thursday service at 6:30 pm. During that we will remember the Last Supper with communion and we have a service of Tenebrae where at the end we will leave the sanctuary stripped and dark waiting for Jesus’ resurrection on Easter Sunday.

As we move into Saturday, April 4 we will be having our very first Messy Church Easter Bash. It will begin at 10 o’clock and end around twelve. We need everyone to plan to arrive at 10:00 to begin with breakfast and then we will walk through the Easter story. We have a couple of wonderful and exciting crafts planned. Then, of course, we will have an Easter Egg Hunt with prizes to wrap up our time together.

Then on Easter morning, April 5, we will meet outside at the cemetery for our Sunrise Service. Then we will encounter the empty tomb in remembrance of the time when Jesus rose from the dead.
Following that, we will have a biscuit breakfast in the Fellowship Hall. Everyone can come and participate in the Sunrise Service and then go into our Fellowship Hall and have a biscuit before they go home and make final preparations for our worship celebration.

Our Easter worship celebration will begin at 11:00 am in the sanctuary and we will focus on celebrating the resurrection of Jesus.
So I hope some of this will find some interest in yourselves to plan it on your calendar and we just look forward to you coming out and joining us and celebrating the risen Christ.
Thank you so much for taking the time to listen to this. We’ll see you soon!
